7:00 PM – 9:00 PM PHOTOBOOK PRESENTATIONS
“Un luogo bello” by Alessandro Mallamaci. A visual narrative of Calabria where beauty and decay coexist. Over five years, Mallamaci explores the contrasts between nature and urban sprawl, tradition and abandonment, with empathy and poetic depth, inspired by the great masters of photography.
“It Was Once My Universe” by Thomas Beachdel and Marie Tomanova (photographer). A visual reflection on migration and belonging. After eight years in the U.S., Tomanova’s return home brings inner conflict and disorientation. Her images, marked by the New York time zone, capture memory, distance, and a dual sense of identity.
“Silence is a gift” by Ciro Battiloro. A photographic account of daily life in Southern Italy between 2015 and 2021, set in Naples' Rione Sanità, Santa Lucia in Cosenza, and Torre del Greco. Battiloro witnesses the evolution of communities, generational change, and the emotional impact of loss.
