Young
Island’s Symmetries
Things don’t change if we are distant; quite the contrary. As the psychology of travel shows, what is closest seems dissimilar and totally foreign, while often the most striking similarities are those we find on the other side of the world. This happens overall among young people, even if they live on opposite sides of the world: they are different, but similar. And from them emerge disturbing parallels reminding us that youth is universal and that growing up in a small community leads to trends, relationships and behaviors that are often predictable.
