History

Interesting Years

An exhibition organized with the collaboration of Luce Cinecittà Archive which brings, for the first time ever, one of its exhibition projects to Calabria. Curated by Enrico Menduni, the exhibition recounts the years between 1960 and 1975. Years of great social, economic and cultural changes that have marked the following decades up to the present day. A period that is told through the shots of the photo agencies that were sent daily to Italian popular newspapers and weekly magazines to be published or discarded. The Luce Cinecittà Historical Archive is one of the richest in the world. A vast patrimony composed of cinematographic, photographic and documentary funds strating from 1924, the year of its foundation, until today. In 2013, the Newsreels and Photographs Fund of the L.U.C.E. National Institute entered, the only one among the Italian audiovisual archives, in the UNESCO ‘Memory of the World’ Register.
